I always love my team . I always wish i could love my team more than any one individual.
Well, Its different - when i watch my team doing the job and watch the team me mbers doing it.
But being a person who is leading the team what should i focus more on? The team member's performance and growth or the team's performance and growth?
I guess the answers would be :
- both are important
- team members are important as they what the team is made up of.
I would rather go wiht the first. Well team building is required on priority than anythting else these days.
It is required to see that as each team member grows in his path and direction , as a leader I should make lanes and cross roads where my members meet and their ideas meet. Also the building of spirit is important to make sure that all in the team see my own target as their focus too.
When the integrity is built in, then the team starts to perform. I beleive its like placing differentially teethed wheels together all in contact to each other. When one of them is turned, all in contact too tries to turn; may be a little bit jerky and slipping at each other. But Sooner or later they all will fall in synch provided we keep that one master wheel turning.
One important thing to be mentioned is that, the wheels in contact may be rotating in different directions, but they make sure that once in sync , they will remain in rotation with the others , so that the whole system goes on functioning smoothly.
The understanding should be simple. The leader should keep turning the master wheel and make sure all wheels are in contact. Now irrespective of the direction of the rotation of the individual wheels, the system contimues to perform.
