My trip to Nikko

It’s just the time factor that delayed me to write about my Nikko trip over the recent long weekend.

Even when we had planned long before for a long 2-3 day trip as the weekend approached, we found to our bad luck that the hotels in Nikko were all full. But none of us ready to turn back or cancel the trip, we a group of 9 started on Saturday morning for a one day trip to Nikko. We just carried some extra clothing to make sure we are not without accessories in case we find a need to stay on.

Reached Nikko after a wonderful train ride and found that the rain was pouring out there. But still in high spirits we started the fun in Nikko with the Tobu world square where Major monuments are compressed to models of size 1/25 of the original size was an amazing sight to see different landmarks all around the world.

Once this was done we came back to the main city block for an awesome lunch at one of the Asian restaurants. WE ate to full and then started for our next leg of journey. Our friend at the travel desk gave us a few option which will allow us visitors before 4 PM and the time was already 3 PM.Well we started to think a way out and did not want to miss the last train. Meanwhile a couple of us approached another desk and started a chat and to our surprise she found us a place to stay at pretty mucha cheap rate. Only problem was a bit far away. The group was called for an immediate discussion and Quick decision to stay was made. We had an elder coming to pick us up form there to the Japanese style Inn for our stay. We were all glad. I and Mayank were quick to do some basic shopping to keep the supplies availability for the group thru the evening and the night.

We soon reached the Inn and freshened up. Soon we were out for a up the slope trek to a waterfall hidden among the green hills. After a tiring but enthusiastic walk we reached the view points of the fall. The walk really tiring was worth the moment we got the glimpse of the water fall.

We spend some fun time there and soon were walking back to the inn. I slipped to a deep slip not to wake up till next day morning. Others had real good fun with card games and dinner.Inf act the stay was really cool and exciting especially since we felt like we are in a Japanese home.
The next day we started to see the major and one of Japan's largest water fall.
Reached the location by a bus ride for about an hour. Remember all tickets are available as packages and they are real good bargains.Saw the breath taking falls and soon were walking to wards the lake. There we also did a bit of shopping for artifacts.

Soon after we were at the lake and this segment was on the spot moves and turned out to be a life time experience. A speed boat was hired for the group and we had literal flight on the sillent majestic lake. Fantastic it was with the fog and the greenery.
Soon we were again shopping for food. We also had some cycling plans, but had to drop them soon as a few of us were not fluent enough:)

And then was the time for a view point which required us through almost a Kilometer tunnel. We cracked it and soon reached the View point. we all enjoyed several food items and also saw some amazing sights. Took a Rope way ride to the tallest area of that location. Had to wait for long as everything was covered with Mist. Hoover by the grace of God, we could see what we wanted as clouds cleared for at least a minute or two.

Soon we were ready to get back to the Nikko bus station to catch a bus back to the town. In between we covered our lunch too.Soon we took the bus and a ride to the Next stop over. WE had to take another pass and it was soon the Shrine time. Believe me they all look almost the same, but still as a visitor you may look around.

Soon all the tired souls boarded the train to Tokyo. was a cloumsy ride but we had enough and more fun in the train with lots of instances and jokes. Finally home and flat we all were in our beds.Soo tired.
