Moon cake !

Today I had for the first time a moon cake, as if i was really supposed to have it right in time. Lin san today afternoon brought some omiyage from China and they were moon cake. I was in a meeting and was just lucky to pick up that last one in the corner of the big box as i got back. Just in time and as if it was indeed waiting for me :)
Interestingly i came to know about the moon cake a couple of days back and this is a pastry used in China during the Mid Autumn festival and this is the time when families and dear and near ones get together or it is considered as a time of togetherness. I am not sure why they are called pastries but they tasted slightly sweet and placid with semi solid Lotus paste kind of filling. Interesting but it was like we were both waiting for each other- And at last we made it just in time me and the moon cake :)

And i guess its because of the shape of the moon in this beautiful and special time! Interesting and enchanting cultural experiences!
